Artist: The Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer
Christ in the House of Martha and Mary is an oil painting accomplished by the Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer in 1655. Today, this painting is located in the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh. The painting is also known as Christ in the House of Mary and Martha.
It is the largest surviving painting made by Johannes Vermeer. In the painting Jesus’ is probably expressing something by gesturing his right hand. Mary is attentive when he is peaking while her sister Martha serving him the bread.
