Wilhelmine Sulzer was born in 1820 on 27 May and named Friederica Catharina Sulzer. It is known that she was an illegitimate child who was orphaned at the age of 16. She was portrayed by the German painter Joseph Karl Stieler in 1838, when she was 17 years old. In 1836, she attended Heigel at the Royal Court as a student and came in the attention of German king Ludwig. She was called “the decent and virtuous girl” by Ludwig. She married the Ministerial Registar Karl Schneider after retiring from the theatre, where she could work only for one year because of her chronic chest pain. She died at the very young age though there is no such record when she exactly died.
