Regina Daxenberger was the daughter of coppersmith Matthäus Daxenberger. In 1832, she married Cabinet Secretary Fahrmbacher.King. She was immortalized by Ludwig who thought her to be one of the most beautiful women around.
This portrait was finished in 1829 by Joseph Karl Stieler when Regina was 18 years old. In the painting she is wearing the traditional Munich headdress. The deep brownish background and the flower Vass beside her symbolize loyalty.
