Kurt Wenner is internationally acclaimed street artist who is best known for his distinctive 3-D pavement art. He attended Rhode Island School of Design and Art Center College of Design and on completion of his study he joined NASA as an advanced scientific illustrator. While working he invented several conceptual paintings of future space projects and celestial landscapes. In 1982 he left NASA and went to Italy for in-depth knowledge of figurative art. He studied about the great masters of classical sculptures and became interested in the monumental scale of drawing and sophisticated decoration and artistic expression which are now very prominent in his street art.
Kurt Wenner expresses a story through his art and images and compels the public to think consider and reconsider the use of classicism. He was honored with ‘the Kennedy Center Medallion’ for his extensively significant and amazing contribution to arts and education.
